Spurscast # 271: TP for MVP?

Written by Michael A. De Leon on .

On this episode of the Spurscast, Trevor Zickgraf joins Jeff Garcia and I to talk about the latest San Antonio Spurs news.

We went into detail on James Anderson's agent urging to Spurs to trade him, the best the Spurs could do in a trade for Anderson and whether or not he should stay.

On the second half of the show, Trevor, Jeff and I discuss whether Spurs all-star guard Tony Parker should get some consideration for MVP. Once you hear our takes on the topics, make sure to leave your opinions in the comments below.

i know we already have a forward in leonard who can defend the 4 also. but can i say my offseason wish list? as for trades in the season i dont see any deals being struck up for getting a big man in return for packaging anderson unless its a big man another team wont mind letting go like a hasheem thabeet (too much money and we'd have to add someone else), l. sanders, or a. randolph. Any other quality big man we'd want, we would have to make a deal sending anderson and one of our own big man. spurs won't deal bonner (they love that big who can shoot the three ever since i can remember horry doing it for the spurs), they wont deal splitter (if they did theyd be idiots), and theyre not dealing dejuan IMO. They like his motor and im pretty sure theyre hoping he keeps improving. so i look for the offseason. I think every spur fan has the same dream...that we land dwight...its not gona happen. but, ive said on here before, the pacers didn't extend hibbert (for idk what reason) soooo while everyones going dwight crazy the spurs could quietly battle the pacers on a little restricted fa auction for hibbert and land a quality big man. in addition, bringing over richards would bring new meaning to Twin Towers. two guys OVER seven feet, and one of them can spread the floor like a bonner. now back to my entry point, i like leonard focusing on being a wing, but i also love the combo forward position. if it can be played with the right size and skills, IMO its the most versatile position in bball.....now i know i may get chewed out for this but theres another 08 draftee who did not get extended, is this position, but is a headcase. michael beasely. i know i know spurs hate headcases BUT hes super versatile, hes an intense player, and i can see him loving being on a winning team like the spurs. In addition, he adds tons of match up problems for other teams if we decide to go small with him at pf or big with him at sf and richards and hibbert at 4 and 5. the only way to do this though presents money problems. If we want this to happen, this means full future commitment, aka we dont resign tim unless its for like 1.5 million and even then itd be tricky, we amnesty jefferson(i think we still can this offseason), and we try to trade bonner somewhere for cash or something like that. itd be lucky if we could do all that....but this is just my dream come true. go spurs go! :P
