Spurscast #265: RJ era over

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

On this episode of the Spurscast, I am joined by Project Spurs' Trevor Zickgraf as we breakdown the news heard around the world -- the San Antonio Spurs will be using their amnesty clause and will be letting go of Richard Jefferson.

We discuss the ramifications of the news on the team and what does this mean as far as the Spurs' search for a small forward.

Speaking of small forwards, Trevor and I talk about the Spurs rumor mill including Caron Butler, Josh Howard, Chris Kaman and other players the Spurs have been reported to be looking at.

All this and much more including a proposed Project Spurs trade of one of our writers.

With T.J Ford it would give us much relief at back up pg. i don't trust Joseph we need a big man and a decent sf most important a big who can play defense and size with some post up moves.

Why Dunleavy? He has had knee injuries in the past. If Jefferson is out, the spurs must stick to the current lineup of Green, Butler and Leonard. What is the use of signing these guys only to bench them? Let them show the scars to grow with the team or waive them. Address the more pressing issue, a big banger to attend to the interior and relieve TD. Stick to Kaman, Mcroberts, Fesenko, Landry and Clark.
