The San Antonio Spurs (1-0) will get their first game on the road in the new season with a visit to L.A. to face the Lakers (1-1). The Spurs and Lakers met in the opening round of last season's West playoffs where San Antonio handed L.A. an early exit with a sweep (4-0). However, the Lakers have made changes including losing Dwight Howard to free agency (signed with Houston) and are still without Kobe Bryant who is recovering from an Achilles injury.
The Spurs are coming off a 101-94 win over the Grizzlies in the team's home opener. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 14 points in the win but it was a costly win as Tim Duncan was injured (chest contusion) he suffered in the game. He traveled with the team to L.A. but is doubtful to play as he is day-to-day.
The Lakers are coming off a 94-125 loss to the Warriors in Oakland. Pau Gasol scored 12 with seven rebounds for L.A. in the loss.
And as the Spurs get set to kick-off a mini 3-game road trip, here are five things to watch for in tonight's contest.no comments
