Do we have any gamers out there? How about fans of 2K Sports' NBA 2K series?
I for one have been playing this since their first title and it has proven each year to be the best basketball title on any platform. NBA 2K14 has already released for the current gen consoles but it is the difference the game is on the next gen consoles that has made this game solidify its standing as the only basketball title that fans need to pick up.no comments
San Antonio Spurs forward Danny Green had made just six 3-pointers through six games in the 2013-14 regular season, prior to Sunday’s game against the New York Knicks.
It only took Green 23 minutes to match his season mark with six 3-pointers Sunday as he returned to his home state of New York to go 6-of-9 from three point range, while also scoring in the post with a fade away and making a few layups on his way to be the Spurs’ leading scorer with 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 120-89 blowout of the Knickerbockers.
The Spurs, who had struggled mightily offensively on Friday at home against the Golden State Warriors, where they scored just 12 and 13 points in two individual quarters, came lights out in Madison Square Garden as they opened the game with a 35-17 first quarter lead.no comments
The San Antonio Spurs (5-1) are back on the road as they visit the New York Knicks (2-3) for an early afternoon tussle in Madison Square Garden.
The Spurs are coming off a 76-74 win over the Warriors in San Antonio. Kawhi Leonard led San Antonio with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Tony Parker chipped in with 18 points in the win.
The Knicks are coming off a 101-91 win over Charlotte. Carmelo Anthony led New York with 26 points. J.R. Smith is set to return to the Knicks after serving a five game suspension for violating the league's anti-drug program.
And as the Spurs look to extend their three-game winning streak to four games, here are five things to watch for in today's matchup:
• Tim Duncan has three consecutive games with five-or-more assists.no comments
AT&T CENTER – Before the San Antonio Spurs narrowly defeated the Golden State Warriors on Friday, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was asked what he thought the Warriors would be like with new marquee addition Andre Iguodala.
Pop’s response: “I don’t know? We’ll find out.”
The follow-up question to Popovich was whether he’s watched any game footage to plan for Iguodala, and he basically said no.
“I haven’t studied any tape,” said Popovich. “It’s the fifth game of the year. This is the learning part of the season.”no comments
AT&T CENTER--After their enjoyable second round playoff series, any game between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors figures to be teeming with storylines and intrigue. Much of that goes out the door with the absence of Stephen Curry, who did not play, and what intrigue remains dissolves behind the haze of what has been an odd, but technically successful start for the Spurs.
The Spurs won, as they have four other times before this season, but they didn't play particularly well. And they haven't for much of the season, despite the 5-1 record. Finding any narrative in that, this early in this season, would be flawed. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich hasn't been concerned with the early season sample size, while his team is aware of the need to improve their overall play.no comments
The Houston Rockets are already reaping the benefits of signing the biggest free agent this summer. The Rockets are off to a hot start at 4-2 and with Dwight Howard and James Harden in the fold, Houston may be looking at a deep playoff push.
However, former San Antonio Spurs guard Steve Kerr doesn't think Houston has what it takes to be a title contender this season.no comments
While the San Antonio Spurs were looking to find a backup to Kawhi Leonard by bringing in veterans Corey Maggette and Sam Young, it appears, they may have tried to bring in some shooting help as well in the form of the newly-retired Michael Redd.
Redd, who played for the Milwaukee Bucks for all but one season of his 12-year NBA career, formally announced his NBA retirement in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
But if you think Redd decided to call it quits because a lack of NBA offers, think again.no comments
