Video: Parker on winning the title for Duncan

During the NBA Finals, Rey Moralde of The No Look Pass will be contributing to Project Spurs during the San Antonio Spurs' chase for title number five.

Tony Parker has been a different player these last few years. Even though Tim Duncan is still there, the San Antonio Spurs have really become more of Parker's team. They transitioned the offense into one that predicates ball movement instead of one that uses a lot of the post.

Parker has also become quite a leader. Duncan is in the twilight years of his career. And over the last few years, Parker has taken more of the load of the squad. So when Parker told Duncan last year that he'll help him get back to the Finals, I'm not surprised. Here's what Parker told Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports:

Duncan "remembered [the promise] and reminds me every time we passed a playoff round," Parker told Yahoo! Sports. "He said, 'We're going to ride you to the end.

"Timmy means a lot to me. I learned so much from him. From the first day I arrived in San Antonio he's always had my back. He's a very good friend, very close to me on the court and off the court."

Video: Green, Ginobili, Joseph on trip to NBA Finals & more

San Antonio Spurs' Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and Cory Joseph spoke to the media after a recent practice to talk, what else, the NBA Finals.

Green weighed in on the Pacers and Heat series and noted how physical the two teams are with one another and scouting the teams in anticipation of the Finals.

Ginobili spoke on making a return to the Finals after a long drought, and being appreciative of this postseason run. Manu went on to state the team isn't familiar too much with East teams and in particular how he has not face Miami this season. Interesting to note Manu said he would like to see Indiana advance simply for the Spurs to gain the home court advantage.

Joseph talked about how much the D-League experience helped him this season and how it is paying off in the playoffs and more.

Miami or Indiana? Boris Diaw weighs in

The San Antonio Spurs continue to wait patiently for things to be settled in the Eastern Conference Finals between the Heat and Pacers and fans and media are asking which team would the Spurs rather face.

Both teams present issues for the Spurs in the Finals and Boris Diaw weighed in.

In an interview with French site BasketSession.com, Diaw, who is making his first appearance in an NBA Finals, initially picked Miami but changed his mind and noted the Pacers present their issues as well in a seven-game series.

Video: Coach Bud introduced as new Hawks coach

Long-time San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Mike Budenholzer will take over the head coaching spot with the Atlanta Hawks starting next season.

Mike joins the list of many former Spurs players and front office personnal who have left San Antonio to join other organizations after getting their experience with the Spurs such as Sam Presti with the Thunder, Danny Ferry with the Hawks, and many more.

Coach Bud was introduced to the Atlanta media where he thanked coach Gregg Popovich for giving him the needed experience to feel confident about his next stepping stone in his NBA career.

The Spurs need the Heat

The opportunities to appreciate Tim Duncan are getting fewer and fewer by the day, even as he continues to show he has more in reserve than

most ever thought possible at the age of 37.

For that reason and more, San Antonio Spurs fans should be rooting for the Miami Heat to survive the Indiana Pacers. This has been a magical season for the San Antonio Spurs, and with tomorrow not guaranteed for a team whose core sits on the wrong side of 30, if this is to be a curtain call of sorts for Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker, it deserves the largest audience possible.

As nice as it might be to see old friends (George Hill), the Pacers will not draw the nation-wide interest the Spurs already struggle to produce.

The Spurs need the Heat, or specifically, the Spurs need the Heat’s LeBron James and the national audience that the he brings to the table.

Video: Spurs talk NBA Finals, coach Bud heading to the Hawks & more

The San Antonio Spurs continue their long wait before Game 1 of the NBA Finals and after two days off, the Spurs went back to the practice floor and got in some much needed time on the court.

After practice was over, Spurs' Tony Parker spoke with the media and gave the fans some good news concerning his injured calf - it is doing fine. Parker also went on to talk about coach Budenholzer heading to Atlanta, and the Eastern Conference Finals.

Duncan also weighed in on the Heat and Pacers and said he is keeping an eye on the two teams to figure how they run things on the court, his thoughts on coach Bud heading to the Hawks and more.

Tim Duncan serves as inspiration for Miami's Bosh

During the NBA Finals, Rey Moralde of The No Look Pass will be contributing to Project Spurs during the San Antonio Spurs' chase for title number five.

Chris Bosh, as we know, is the big man of Miami's "big three." We know that Dwyane Wade and LeBron James get inspiration from one Michael

Jordan. But Bosh, being a 6'10" power forward/center, can't exactly emulate his game from Jordan. So where does he draw inspiration from?

If his team makes it to the Finals, he would be going against that inspiration. That would be San Antonio Spurs' big man Tim Duncan. Check out Joseph Goodman's story from the Miami Herald.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Chris Bosh had Tim Duncan posters. That pretty much sums up how long the Spurs have been the gold standard of consistency in the NBA.

The Heat still has plenty of work to do if it wants to reach the NBA Finals, but Tuesday its players paid homage to the team that would be its opponent in the next round. The Spurs swept the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night in stunning fashion to win the Western Conference finals and earn 10 days of rest before The Finals.

Video: Spurs are the Dr.'s favorite NBA team

In an era of flashiness, endorsements, and who makes it the most on highlight reels, the San Antonio Spurs and Tim Duncan often get overlooked. Time after time, the Spurs are right in the thick of things in the race for the NBA title season after season thanks in large part to Duncan and this season is no different.

The Spurs and Duncan are back in the NBA Finals for a fifth time in franchise history which could also mean a fifth ring that Duncan has been chasing.

However, the Spurs have to wait a bit longer as things get settled in the Eastern Conference but after Game 4 of the ECF, NBA legend Julius "Dr. J" Erving praised the Spurs and Duncan and called them his favorite outside of the 76ers.

Spurs heading back to Vegas this summer

The San Antonio Spurs will be joining 21 other teams in Las Vegas this Summer as part of the NBA Summer League. This year will be the seventh consecutive year the Spurs have sent a squad to Vegas to compete against other NBA squads as well as the D-League select team.

The Spurs usually send a squad of Austin Toros standouts, training camp hopefuls and Spurs rookies and sophomores to give them extra time to develop, build up confidence, or figure out who they are sending to camp.

Championship or not, Duncan is one of the greatest

Here is John's first post on Tim Duncan's place among the best-of-the-best in league history.

A few things happen as an aging superstar edges closer to championship.

There’s a requisite level of reflection. On a TV show, it’d be the part where the character looks off into the distance and the picture dissolves into a foggy, slow motion recall of career highlights. This is, in its own way, a sort of eulogy. Sometimes you can tell by the author including the line “I don’t want this sound like a eulogy...”

There’s also amazement, because guys at whatever age this aging superstar is at the moment aren't supposed to be doing what this guy is doing. “Father time” references are your clue that you’re reading one of those.

And then there’s historical perspective and ranking. A (or another) title suddenly changes people’s views about players. This is where I come in.
