With the trade deadline coming up this week, several teams are looking at clearing cap space and some are expected to be tanking in an effort to land one of the major draft prizes this year, including Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid. The roar looks at good and bad examples of tanking and says the Spurs tanking got them arguably the best power forward in the NBA back in 1996.

San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli's strategy of placing the money ball rack in the last corner spot during Saturday's three point contest paid dividends as Belinelli always picked up steam, and found his rhythm toward the end of his run. Belinelli was the first Spur to win the contest, although the Spurs have been represented by Matt Bonner, Roger Mason, Steve Smith, Terry Porter, Chuck Person and Dale Ellis.

When the Silna brothers made a deal to get one-seventh of the TV revenue generated by the four NBA teams making the jump to the NBA in perpetuity, including the San Antonio Spurs, the NBA had no idea exactly what they were giving up. This year, the Silnas re set to make $19 million. Now the NBA is looking for ways to get out of the deal.
