It seems that fans of the NBA and it's respective teams are not awarded the same opportunities when good fortune happens to smile upon them.
I've met several of our players. Most of them are polite and nice to the average fan who interrupts them or doesn't show manners (sometimes shocked by the weird things people do when around one of our guys)-but, without naming names, a couple would absolutely not be cool with this kind of thing in SA. For what it's worth, hands down the nicest active Spur I've met a few times who is just freaking humble and down to earth and patient with fans: Manu. Retired Bonner's nice (still want to trade him). Retired Spur? Hands down Ice. D-Rob is nice, but Ice...he's still one cool and down to earth cat. . A couple active players (and I love their game)...notsomuch. One Spur I haven't met in person is Kawhi. I'd like to-but I'm guessing he is very introverted and that's OK. I love this video. I think what's happening there is pride in country and culture and accomplishment and everyone sharing that incredibly wonderful bond. There's kind of a purity to that, that doesn't seem to exist over here any more in general.
Hi there I'm a french fan of the spurs (mainly because of TP I admit). What you see there isn't regular fans, there's mostly family members of those players; because the tournament took place in slovenia and not many french could have done the journey, except closes and parents. When the team came back to France it was impossible to reach them. But you're right by saying those guys are down to earth, the entire contry is so proud of them because of that too.
