This past weekend was San Antonio's first-ever comic con. An event which draws out the inner-geek in many as fans of sci-fi movies, TV shows and comic books dress up as their favorite character. From people dressed as "The Walking Dead" characters to "Wolverine," it was quite the event if you were lucky enough to attend.
At the convention was San Antonio Spurs' Matt Bonner who decided he go as the best character ever - the "Red Mamba."
Check out "The Red Mamba" in all his glory including Bonner in mask and red cape with the mamba symbol. Now I fully hope to see a "Red Mamba" comic series hit the shelves soon.
Matt Bonner, you win the SA Comic Con with that costume.
Name Bonner elite skill.. cause if you say 3 pointers then just 3 pointers alone u r putting him with the wlits such as Curry, Allen, and even Dirk.. btw keith bogans can defend an elite player his only liability is with offense.. but im done talking about Bonner. Move on he proobably wont get signed after this year or be tradede away.
Y do we talk about this guy he is a horrible player for the spurs I dont even know why he is still with the team
@LiveSpurs Any actual smart Spurs fan KNOWS that Bonner is elite 3 Pt shooter. 44% in 3s last year 49% FG.
Easily better than Ray Allens 40% career ,hes right with Steph in 3s%, and Matt trounces Dirks 3 Pt shooting, so you are so off base its not even funny. And bogans at his BEST was NOT elite at anything. Solid defender ok, but nothing more.
@slapdoghoops Pretty sure he was given that title by the other "Mamba".
@LiveSpurs Horrible is a pretty big overstatement imo. He has skills. He even has one elite level skill, and theres plenty in the NBA that dont even have that. And he's still with the team because he has a contract and fills a need for a regular season minute soaker to keep TD fresh. Besides all that, he's one of onlt two bigs we have that can stretch the floor which is important for the Spurs schemes.
@LiveSpurs "Y" do you even follow the spurs then? if you don't like them or their roster, go somewhere else. simple as that.
@LiveSpurs that was a little harsh...
He may not have the best defense but he has a great personality, and you really can't argue that 3-ball.
@LiveSpurs and you were the 1st to comment here on Bonner so I guess you arent REALLY done talking about Matt. Dislike him all you want, but be prepared for knowledgeable posters to refute any bogus claims that you make
Everyone in the NBA has an Elite level skill, thats y they are in the NBA, but as a basketball enthusiasts u can't tell me Bonner did not make u wanna pull your own hair out with his hideous defense and one demensional offense.
@LiveSpurs There have always been NBA players that were merely good and are without an "ELITE" skill. What ELITE skill did Ian have? Or Keith Bogans? I could name loads of players without an ELITE skill. There are loads of players that played in NBA that were good at one or more things, but had no elite skill to speak of. And Bonner actually played better in last playoffs and his D is hardly hideous.
@LiveSpurs I think he's better than you give him credit for. besides, what harm does he do? he's not keeping anyone more deserving from playing, he'll win a game or two for you with some hot shooting each season, and he's a good presence in the locker room. there's a reason he's still here and Stephen Jackson is not...
@LiveSpurs lol...Bonner IS a Spur.
@DanielChevez Very true. That and the rules are pretty stacked in favor of the guy with the ball.
