In just his second season in the NBA, San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard had the unenviable task of defending the best player on the planet - Miami Heat's LeBron James in the 2013 NBA Finals.
We all know how much of a wrecking ball James can be on the offensive end but Leonard held his own using his long arms, lateral quickness and massive hands in the Finals.
In the following video from SB Nation's Coach Nick, we get to see just how effective Kawhi's defense is on LeBron (skip to 3:32 point). And although Coach Nick says Leonard needs to improve his strength to be a more effective defender versus James, he definitely sees something brewing between these two players.
Kawhi is still a young pup-and that should be the very scary thing for opponents. He'll probably add another 10 -15 lbs of muscle in time. His frame isn't the type to carry 20 plus well. But he's just going to get better and better.
