I was 6 years old as well and probably didn't know what basketball was at that time, so I had no idea about this shot.
So because of that, I have no problem with Horry selecting it. He made some big shots for us to make up for it. Of course, the most memorable one for me is the Game 5 shot in Detroit in the Finals in OT.
Man, I was 6 years old when I first watched this broadcast. And it's funny, I vividly remember thinking, that Dennis Rodman guy is really childish.
Naw, I ain't mad. History writes that Hakeem dominated the Admiral to win that series, but based on what Horry said, had he missed that shot, the Rockets might have continued to believe that they couldn't beat the Spurs. If the Spurs had won that series, then the NBA championship, it would have altered the history of our franchise. I will gladly take that defeat over getting Tim Duncan, gaining four NBA titles, and rising to be the most envied small market franchise in professional sports.
He doesn't come right out and say it, but he shows a lot of respect to our team by his pick. I think his reasoning made sense!
@spursfan80 remember when he almost made that 3 vs sas in the playoffs when he was with lal?
