As the San Antonio Spurs (51-16) are about to begin a grueling stretch of their season where they’ll face 11 playoff teams in their last 15 regular season games, they may not be without All-Star point guard Tony Parker for too much longer.
In his pregame media session where the Spurs prepare to host the Golden State Warriors, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said “it’s possible” Parker might be able to return from his grade 2 left ankle sprain as early as Friday when the Spurs host the Utah Jazz.
Immediately after Popovich said the words, Parker walked in the hallway with his party. One reporter asked Parker if he would play Friday, Parker pointed to Pop and said, “(you’re) talking to the right man.”
Parker’s expected return was initially four weeks, but as each day passes, it seems like he’s getting closer to returning in three weeks, which would be Friday.
Here are a few other pregame tweets from Coach Popovich and Warriors coach Mark Jackson.
