On this episode of the News 4 San Antonio Spurs Roundtable powered by Project Spurs, Jeff Garcia and Quixem Ramirez take a look at the Spurs offseason moves and put them under the microscope.
From resigning Manu Ginobili and Tiago Splitter to the new additions of Marco Belinelli and Jeff Pendergraph, Jeff and "Q" ask if these were the right roster moves or not. Needless to say, when it came to the topic of Manu resigning, the panel had differing opinions.
In the last segment, the panel looks at the Spurs Summer League squad and focus on a few players that have to put on a show in Vegas if they want a shot at the Spurs roster heading into next season.
All this and much more on this episode of the Spurs Roundtable.
I respect what you do, but Jeff most of your opinions really got to me... Overpaid for Manu? 2 years at just $7M I don't even know if its $3.5M a year or one year at 3 the next at 4 it could either way I think that's a fair price especially considering that's the price to not see him in another jersey I say we got off easy. Tiago a 4 year $36M contract is a fair deal considering big men in the league, and if you're not going to get him who did we actually have a chance at getting?? We did the best with what we had, San Antonio isn't the biggest free agent destination spot just in case you forgot my friend and the fact that Tiago is only getting better is going to prove beneficial for us this upcoming year. I'll be the first to admit, Miami made Tiago look foolish, the exposed him and the Spurs to go along with that but he will get better. Belinelli is a good pick up but another Manu... C'mon don't start that yet, its way too soon. If anything the next Manu is still James Harden, Belinelli is not amazing at both ends of the court, he's good but not great. I don't mind being proven wrong but I'm pretty good at guessing with these kinds of things. Guard heavy team with lots of expiring contracts just asking for some big trades!!
@chrismelendez42 Manu's contract is a 2 year $14 mil deal at $7 mil a year.
