According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the San Antonio Spurs are one of four possible suitors for free agent forward Mike Miller who was amnestied two days ago by the Miami Heat, but was not picked up by teams below the cap in the amnesty waivers.

Now that Miller cleared waivers, he'll still be paid what Miami owed him but he can now sign for the veteran minimum if he so chooses. The Spurs currently have one roster spot remaining that may still be available for restricted free agent Gary Neal if the price is right, free agent center Greg Oden (whose name has been associated with San Antonio in countless rumors), or possibly the Spurs' 58th second round draft pick Deshaun Thomas. You can now add Miller to the list of 15th spot candidates as well.
Miller is 33 years of age and in 59 regular season games with the Heat, Miller averaged 15.2 minutes, shot 42% from 3-point range and averaged 4.8 points per game. The Spurs saw first hand how effective Miller can still be as he averaged 21.8 minutes, shot 61% from 3-point range, and averaged 5.3 points per game in the NBA Finals.
He was part of the Heat's historic Game 6 comeback as he was responsible for grabbing one of the key offensive rebounds that would eventually help the Heat prevent a 5th championship for the Spurs.
However, the competition will be tough for the Spurs as the Oklahoma City Thunder specifically will be looking for a productive wing shooter after missing out on Kevin Martin and Dorrell Wright in free agency.
last time I checked we needed some size or a SF he can play spot up minutes at that position but is liable on defense and would set us back some, it said he averaged something along the lines of 4.8 ppg in the regular season and 5.3 ppg in the finals which honestly is a telling sign. Maybe in this spurs system he could possibly find more open shots but again those are the only ones he has a real chance at making are open 3 pointers off ball movement
I think we should sign Miller as a past-his-prime sharpshooting veteran good luck charm, aka the Steve Kerr/BrentBarry/Robert Horry role.
Waiving or trading Matt Bonner in this solution to acquiring Mike Miller? We all know how of a big threat he can be especially in clutch time.
This comment is about/to the writer....saw that your name is Paul Garcia. I use to have a friend by that name but lost touch. Did you happen to graduate from John Jay High School in 1993? It would be nice to catch up if you're the one I know and use to consider one of my best friends. Natalie (Rodriguez) Cook
@3ncook Good luck finding the right Paul Garcia among the 800 guys with that name in South Texas.
@Spursfan66 i think you are correct
@Spursfan66 i really think he lands in houston for some reason. not sure we have minutes for him in SA anyway.
