Big move, this guy can play if he healthy. Yall forgot this is first pick talent not some bum. Greg held his own against Bynum, Yao and old mutombo when he played.
Gotta say, I'm seeing a ton of sour grapes. Good thing I like wine.
Bottom line if he had come to SA, not a single one of you would be talking about he looks old, or hoping he has a knee injury, or how we don't need a big man. Half you guys would be penciling the spurs in the finals/champs no doubt!
Oden has the face of a 60 year old and the knees of a 80 year old, who needs the 18 sub-par games he would play...Lets hope Al Harrington clears waivers and we can bring him in...
I guess if he had signed with the Spurs I could have been optimistic but I would rather have a decent backup to Leonard.
aron baynes is better than greg oden anyway. and plus lets give that spot to deshuan thomas or mo willimas, preferably deshuan thomas
Blessing in disguise. Miami seem to have a charity spot on their roster each year at centers who don't get to play. First Dampier, then Curry next is Oden. I really don't think he can be effective, he will be playing with caution. If you're afraid, it just will not work out in the NBA. Let's give backup c minutes to Baynes and get someone for Kawhi to sub with at sf instead, that is what we need.
I can't say that Greg made a bad choice. Miami is a good fit for him, just as San Antonio would have been. Rather than yet another guard or big man, what the Spurs need most is a back-up SF, or TWO. Yes, I know we only have one roster spot available. Injuries seem to happen at the worst possible time ...
This just shows what kind of a player oden is, one that takes the easiest way instead of working on his game with the greates power forward of all time and reviving his career. Just like lebron, wade, bosh, and allen taking the easy way out
Never a doubt. Why would he choose any other team, he can go ride lebrons cost tails to the finals maybe a ring, and get paid to do it.
Never a doubt.
He won't learn anything from that coach in Miami his best shot was with PoP maybe he new he was gonna get tested and didn't want to be accounted for in his actions on and off the court POP don't play That other coach in Miami is a wimp
@JohnAbneyWrong..he DOES look old, we DONT need another big (especially a BROKEN one), and assumptions are a slippery slope.
Id rather take a chance with potential with deshaun and hollis than al Harrington who doesn't play defense
If we were to go after mo Williams then we will need to trade a couple of gaurds. Hopefully we sign hollis Thompson or deshaun thomas
Can't fathom he would pass on improving fundamental aspects of his game (greatest power forward ever) as he tries to resurrect his game
@SpursAllDay11 Never wish that to anybody bc it can go back and bite you or your(our) team in this case...Wish him all the best, although I think he made a wrong choice...
