Well & truly back in the grind of things & couldn't be more excited to play for Australia in August... Especially in my home town Canberra!— Patrick Mills (@Patty_Mills) July 19, 2013
Patty Mills should join the cheering squad of the Spurs instead of a player. He is too undersized and the Spurs have several guards and they need SF, PF and C. After all there's only Leonard. They MUST find a credible replacement for TD NOW NOT when he retires. I'm sure Pendergraph is NOT the man. Also find somebody to play Center unlike Splitter who disappears in crucial games. May I suggest Varejao? Well, if the Spurs are satisfied being second fiddle, the present lineup is OK!
Overall, a positive thing for player development and therefore for the Spurs. They get to play against top notch competition in roles that allow them to test and develop new skill sets. You worry sometimes about the burnout factor for stars who play big minutes all year then back up with International duty, but for guys like Patty, Baynes, De Colo etc... I see it as a positive with limited downside.
That said, I'm Australian, so, I might not be the best person to ask. Go Straya!!
