Video: Patty Mills knows his role with the Spurs

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills knows his role with the team quite well.

After leading Team Australia at the 2012 Olympics (and leading all Olympic players in scoring at 21.2 points per game), Mills knew he may not be pouring in those kinds of numbers for the Spurs, but understood he would have a role coming off the bench.

In a nutshell, try to do what he did for Team Australia for San Antonio according to head coach Gregg Popovich.

Before the recent Spurs-Knicks contest, Mills spoke on his time with the Spurs this season, including learning from Tony Parker, playing defense, and much more.

Patty Mills was a pretty good player for the Blazers. I like what he brings to the Spurs. He can score, he's pretty fast, and he looks to be ready anytime his name is called.
