Video: Cory Joseph's big game vs. Iowa Energy

Written by Jose Grijalva on .

It wasn't just a big night for Cory Joseph, it was a very impressive night for the Austin Toros point guard and assignee for the San Antonio Spurs.

Joseph had a career game with 27 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals against the Iowa Energy. Joseph started strong by contributing 25 of his 27 points in the first half with 5 assists. The Austin Toros starting point guard cooled off in the second half with just two points, but he did help out and create for others with an additional 5 assists that helped seal the game and a double double for the night.

Joseph shot 57% (8-14) from the field and was rewarded for an aggressive game at the free throw line where he shot 8-9 in the game. Joseph did all this in 37 minutes of play on Saturday night. The Spurs were sure to have watched the game and, with Joseph's growing maturity in Austin, may be getting called up soon to help out the team without hesitation.

Check out the video below to relive Joseph's big Saturday night.

CJ is a little ahead of Nando. I wonder why he is in Austin and not Nando ? The other guy to watch is LaMychal Green. He is lloking like he could play in the league at PF or SF. Blocks shots, runs, plays D and makes mid range shpt and has made 2 buzzer beaters to win the last 2 games.

@jojo707 - weird idea crossed my mind - CJ & JaMychal swap w/ Nando & DJB :-| Regardless of the wisdom or lack of it in the idea, is this feasible? - from a standpoint of NBA/D-League rules (after trade deadline), contract status

@ecoguy No, not possible. Spurs have 15 under contract, so they can't sign JaMychal or anyone else without releasing one player. And Blair can't be assigned to Toros without consent. Only players in their first two years can be assigned to D-league.
