Things got heated off the court after the San Antonio Spurs-Los Angeles Lakers Game 2 playoff match Wednesday night in San Antonio as a Spurs and Lakers fan brawled on the concourse of the AT&T Center.
Check out the video of the fight which reportedly lasted 45 seconds and no arrests were made.
The raw video is below.
The Spurs and Lakers have heave heated battles on the court but to see this behavior among fans is not what you want to see as a Spurs fan.
The Spurs and their fans have always had a reputation as being one of the classiest organizations in the league so to see this is a aberration.
If you are at any game whether it be this posteseason or next season and you find yourself in a confrontation at the AT&T Center, please contact an official at the game whether it be security or an usher.
A bit of back-and-forth between fans of opposing teams is bound to happen at a game but just keep your cool Spurs fans and let the battles remain on the court and not off it.
I was at the game, and to me, it seemed like the Lakers fans were in withdrawal because of the realization that their team is cooked. Not just year, but for years to come. People were chanting the typical "Beat LA!" and I yelling that these Lakers didn't deserve that chant. I got some sour looks from a couple Lakers fans, but I think they were too despondent to care. Apparently this Laker fan wasn't...
Some people are so ignorant they can not believe they can be wrong about anything, and then resort to violence.
i was at the game and in all honesty it was crazy. ive been to a lot of games and talked a lot of trash to other teams fans but in all honesty both parties knew it was in good humor and at the end of the game we'd all just slap hands and that was it. talking trash to a lakers fan is like asking for a fight though just cause they dont know what else to do. i swear i walked out of the at&t center looking over my shoulder frantically cause i thought i was gona get pushed from behind at any second by a lakers fan. they were really disrespectful and just asking for it. from the video it looks like the spurs fan pushes first and the lakers fan throws a punch...just gota say for being the first one to get punched that spurs fan recovered quick. lol. lesson of the day? dont waste your breath on some of those lakers fans. if you find the good ones that understand the tradition of their franchise then by all means talk trash and have a good laugh with them cause those fans will know its all just for fun. but if you see some of the edgier ones just stay clear.
too bad the video doesn't show who started it. they're both jawing at eachother, but it's tough to tell who shoved first.
i was at a spurs game in houston in 2008 that we lost, and while leaving a rockets fan ran by and yelled "get out of our house!" (note" i'm a 5'3" girl and this guy decides to come yell right in my face). so I quietly responded back to him to "get out of the first round" (remember how they oculd never win a playoff series with yao ming?). a few people around us cooed a little, but the guy just kind of nodded and walked off.
in hindsight i probably shouldn't have said anything; if i were a guy he may have retaliated. the moral is no matter how much another fan eggs you on, just let it go and keep walking. if they keep bothering or stalking you, report them.
I now live in Phoenix and when I go to the game i get so much crap, its tough not to react to hearing ignorant fans talk trash and get personal. Lakers fans usually are not true fans and don't understand the Great Lakers tradition they have instead they think its a street thing not a game.
I was at the bar watching the game and all Lakers fans want to act like thugs and fight to prove their point of how good their team is(even though they suck they past few years) kinda like the raiders and dodgers fans. Why most violence happens at there games
I just walk away and laugh at the situation don't get me wrong I luv a good bar brawl but i also grew up and realize it is just a game.
how would you haven handled it @ChrisCano
