Former Spur Kenon inducted into S.A. Hall of Fame
Getting inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame is an incredible honor. The class of 2013, which will be enshrined in February, consists 
of former baseball player Norm Charlton, 2000 Olympic gold medal winning women’s basketball coach Nell Fortner, Golfer Joe Conrad, Former AT&T CEO Edward Whitacre, Jr., and former Spur Larry Kenon.
If you don’t remember Kenon, it’s because he played a long time ago. He actually joined the San Antonio Spurs during their last season in the ABA in 1975. He played five seasons with the team, averaging 21.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. He led the team in rebounding every year he was with the team.
"I had a true love for the game," said Kenon, who lives in Boerne. "I enjoyed the game. My generation, we worked hard for a living. That's what I did. Simple as that."
Kenon played alongside George Gervin for four seasons. He made two All-Star teams as a member of the NBA Spurs. He even set the NBA record for steals in a game that still stands today, 11 against the Kansas City Kings in 1976.
Kenon had a very productive career and has definitely earned his spot in the S.A. Sports Hall of Fame. He’s one of the greatest Spurs of all time and deserves to be placed up there with guys like Tim Duncan, David Robinson and George Gervin.

Truly one of my all time favorites. I just liked his style, smooth, but intense. You don't average 10 boards in this league if you aren't intense. Long arms and super anticipation....11 steals !!! This dude was amazing. Thin, but tough and very athletic 6-9 player who ran the floor, had outside shot, and got serious boards inside too. Ok ok none of the Spurs in those days played much defense!
