Why not rest them against Orlando? A coach looses a game against Orlando because they rest their reserves they then run the risk of loosing 3 games in a row... Orlando, Miami, and the Grizzlies. Point 1 - This is very simple. Coaches coach. That's what they get paid for and they do what's best for their team in order to win a championship. Coming out from this they won two out of three games in four days. That's a win considering they were playing two of the top teams in the NBA during that stretch. Point 2 - Respect for international players. four out of five starters started for their respective home countries during the olympics. Stern was very disrespectful towards the international game by issuing this fine and show his blatant disrespect for these international players, their skill levels, and their countries. That was a mistake and will not go unnoticed Point 3 - Pop Doesn't have to show the Miami Heat all of his cards... this is chess not checkers! 1-15 diserve the option to play whenever the caoch wants to play them.. This makes hell for scouting a team when another team prepares for the starters and doesn't even look at 3rd string. Point 4 - Player retention... Why would Spitter resign with the spurs next year when another team is offering more money? Why will Mills, Neal, De Colo, Blair... Why does Tim Tony and Manu sign contracts below the max? It's because of decisions like this by Pop... Guys like to play 1-15 and this 2nd and 3rd sring team is under paid based on NBA standards.. the least they deserve is the spotlight every once in a while.. why not a nationally telivised game? Indirect benifits evaluate 2nd and 3rd sting players against the champions- may better determine playoff roster Element of surprise.. Thats what Miami got and coaches deserve that option. Also gave our reserves a better chance to show their skills.

I'm from Sydney Australia, I've been a Spurs fan since 92, I never got to see the admiral play, so I had to see Timmy and Ginobili before they retired (TP still got a few more years), I went to LA last year Feb 3 to finally see them..... (McDyess Tip in) and it was awesome, but I would've been really upset coming all the way there and missing out on seeing those individuals play.

As a spurs fan, I understand why Pop does it, obviously he's looking at the bigger picture and can accept that. But it would be difficult to accept if you had gone to the game to see timmy, ginobili and parker... oh and Green! and missed out
