Video: Spurs' Parker hailed as 'leader' of French national team by teammates

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

While San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker may be getting set for what should be a deep NBA playoff run, looming on the horizon are the 2012 Olympic games this summer where Parker and the French national team will be striving for Olympic gold in London.

Parker will be joined by Nicolas Batum, Ronny Turiaf, Nando De Colo, and fellow Spurs teammate Boris Diaw as they will be preparing for the London games quite soon in what should be a fantastic summer of basketball with Team USA and Spain also set to capture gold.

In a series covering the road to London for the French team, Parker's teammates make it clear, the team wouldn't be in London if it wasn't for him.

Check out the accolades heaped upon Parker from his Les Blues teammates including Turiaf calling him their "little general," Diaw showering Parker with praise, Batum pointing to TP's play for the reason the team earned an Olympic spot and much more praise given to Parker.

Also, get a glimpse at TP's ridiculous jersey collection and a photo of a svelte Diaw.

@jtshoopsblogFrance has a good team and it will give us a run fr the money. The lull in spur's game gives Diaw to focus on reconditioning.
