Tim Duncan: DND-Old

Written by Kyle Boenitz on .

The back-to-back-to-back must haunt the dreams of the veteran NBA players. Every team has to go through the stretch of three games in three days this season. The San Antonio Spurs just finished one last night in a win against the 76ers. It wasn’t a big surprise that Tim Duncan didn’t dress, it would have been a real strain on him.

What was a surprise was what was in the box score. Someone was giving Duncan a little bit of a hard time and wrote that Tim“ DND – Old.” This is definitely something I've never seen in a box score, I got a real laugh out of it.

Of course, Timmy won’t be recovering from his age issue anytime soon, but I imagine he’ll probably be back on the court for Tuesday’s game in Phoenix against the Suns.

To add more insult to injury, Duncan still managed to get a technical foul in the game. Arguing calls in his suit from the bench got him a tech. Surprisingly, even though Joey Crawford was one of the refs in the game, he wasn’t the one who “T-ed up” Timmy, but Duncan definitely made sure to hide his laughter anyways. I guess he’s really turning into a grouchy old man.

Duncan rocks it, he still dominates fools at his tender age and that's with zero hops. Watching him Dunk reminds me of the Inspector Gadget cartoons I watched as a youngster, Go go gadget Reach!!! for that basket Duncan. If with that he is still one of the best players in the league and by far the most underrated player in the history professional basketball. Kobe who some compare to Jordan played his entire career in LA along with some great players only has one more Ring than Duncan has while playing in small market San Antonio. Everyone complains about some of these guys play the wrong way and don't deserve millions of dollars just to file bankruptcy two years after retirement now you've got a guy who plays the game the right way and is a smart quite man who does everything the right way. If you can't give a man like that the credit he deserves then you can't complain about the ones who do it the wrong way on your morning radio talk shows.

Fact is TD is "old" by nba standards. The coming draft is important to the spurs. They will be looking for one who will  take the place of TD. There is an abundance of big men in this draft the spurs should get one. They may try trade for higher draft and mybe land Melo, one of the Zeller brothers, Drummond, Sullinger, Robinson or JoneIII. ON the 2nd round they could consider Mike Scott, Royce White or Ezeli. No other position is the spurs in need but a pf/c. Enough of the talk about drafting another sg or sf. It could come later. The need for a big man comes first.
