Spurs do not extend Dawson, will rejoin Toros

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

The San Antonio Spurs did not offer Eric Dawson another 10-day contract and is headed back to the Spurs' D-League affiliate Austin Toros according to the Toros.

In two games for San Antonio, Dawson averaged 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, shot 50% from the field in 17 minutes per game. Without Dawson, the Spurs remain shorthanded in the frontcourt still leaving Tim Duncan, Tiago Splitter, DeJuan Blair and Matt Bonner as the team's primary big men.

Dawson will take to the court for the Toros tonight as Austin will face their rival Texas Legends.

I see this as the Spurs are going to go for either Okafor, Kaman, or some other big man before the trade deadline.
