Report: Spurs shopping Blair

Written by Paul Garcia on .

Though it's not much of a surprise, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the San Antonio Spurs are shopping forward DeJuan Blair. DB

According to Wojnarowski, Blair himself is open to a move because he has fallen out of the Spurs' rotation. Woj also says that his sources think the need to move Blair is to create roster space for European picks the Spurs have drafted in the past, to come to the team next season.

Blair has a non-guaranteed contact this coming 12-13 season where he's set to make 1.05 million. Though his market value is most likely a draft pick or cash consideration, he still can be a formidable option for a team if he's given the minutes, as he showed with the Spurs he can score in spurts.

The European players Woj is most likely referring to are Slovenian forward Erazem Lorbek, who is waiting for July 1 to negotiate with the Spurs, and French guard Nando De Colo, who has already said he thinks the Spurs will make a roster spot available to him.

Follow Project Spurs throughout the day as we'll be bringing the latest draft buzz both from San Antonio and live in New Jersey for the 2012 NBA Draft.

Blair needs to be gone and the spurs need to c wat they can get for him and bonner to get either a free agent or cash to get free agents i know the spurs need a plan to replace the greatest Power Forward in nba history and try to get B.Lopez but either way Blair needs to be gone wit bonner or even Splitter was MIA in the playoffs when Tim went ou of the game

WOW
WOW

He has no ACLs, he was benched almost entire Playoff, he was outshaped and addicted to burgers more than polish his game, what do you think you can get? Probably a future late 2nd round pick, but that's it.

I have no problem with this whatsoever. Blair is alright, his only problem is that he's too undersized. It was fun while it lasted. Bye bye dancing bear!!

No problem shopping Blair. Pachaging him with Bonner or Joseph is OK too.Work sign and trade deals with Andeson and Mills if needed to upgarde the middle. I d not have a problem with Splitter leaving either!

Why does everyone want to trade Jackson??? So confusing he is a good player both offensively and defensively.. Hardly anybody is talking about Bonner who just sucks in the playoffs and is useless defensively.. I think if the Spurs can figure out how to trade bonner and blair it will be better.. Lets stop trying to take Jackson out of Silver and Black.

@LiveSpurs It's because Jackson is good. He is 34, and making 10mil+. Is he better then a #2 pick like Neal? No way. I'm with you on bonner but his value is way down. We would be lucky to get a late 2nd rounder for him.

Blair, Jackson, next yrs 1st rounder to the bobcats for the #2 and Thomas. Bobcats want to drop Thomas, they need a 3, and a 4. Spurs don't want Blair, Thomas would replace his production but taller, and beal would be an instant replacement for manu almost. Plus Jackson has an expiring contract for them or could be bought out.
