Video: Kawhi Leonard on his game development

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

The San Antonio Spurs traded for Kawhi Leonard on draft night largely based on his stellar defense he brought to San Diego State and so far in this shortened season, Leonard has been proving defense is his forte.

As a rookie, he has had to defend some of the best in the NBA such as Kevin Martin, Kevin Durant and Stephen Jackson and Kawhi has held his own.

Check out what Leonard had to say (via woai.com) about his development in the NBA including how he feels about being compared to defensive specialist Bruce Bowen by coach Gregg Popovich.

The spurs are lucky in trading for Leonard. Maybe they will be lucky in drafting Malcolm Thomas. Tonight will tell whether or not they will. Hope coach Pops give him the chance to play some minutes. The spurs are less lucky with James Anderson. After 2 years he has not shown improvement. As a sub for Manu so far only big fat eggs. He is on the edge of being assigned to the d-league. Corey Joseph will sub for TP. He is a first round draftee. It remains to be seen if he has what it takes to play in the nba.
