Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Rockets

Written by Jose Grijalva on .

The matchup of the game for Friday night's game between the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets is Tony Parker vs Jeremy Lin.

With James Harden out last game between the two clubs, Lin had a ridiculous game against the Spurs that saw him score 38 points and dish out 7 assists. The Spurs got the win though behind Parker's triple double of 27 points, 12 assists, and 12 rebounds.

Harden will be back this game, so it will be interesting how Lin adjusts to the San Antonio defense.

The Spurs will most likely focus more on Harden than Lin like the first game of the season, which may mean more open looks for "Linsanity" in the game. The problem Lin has had isn't open looks, but not being in rhythm during the game when the ball isn't in his hands.

Parker must attack Lin early and force Lin to lean on his teammates to score since he'll have to guard Parker and his quick feet on the other side of the court. If Parker can help get the Spurs get a big lead, their depth will kick in and wear out the young Rockets by forcing to play a majority of the minutes against different lineups and rotations as the San Antonio Spurs usually throw at teams.

Tony Parker wearing Jeremy Lin out on offense will be key for the San Antonio Spurs to win this game and look for Lin trying the same strategy on the Spurs' court general.

Harden wasn't the only person missing on a team last game. We didn't have Kawhi Leonard or Stephen Jackson. Are defense was hurting a bit but because of the depth on are team we were able to leave that game victorious. Tony  Parker wearing out Jeremy Lin is not the "Key" to winning tonight's game. For us to win we have to play our game and not fall into Houston's game. Houston is one of the best fast break teams in the league so we want to try and limit that as much as we can. If we do that and play our game we can add another "W" to the win column.
