Nike to re-release David Robinson's Air Force 180 High sneakers
Written by Jeff Garcia on .
During San Antonio Spurs legend David Robinson's time in the NBA, he was part of Nike and a basketball sneaker line was made for him called "Air Force" which spawned some of the most memorable commercials titled "Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood." For those not old enough to remember, check it out.
Well if you weren't born back in the '90's or haven't got a chance to get your hands on a pair of "The Admiral's" Nike sneakers, well you are in luck.
Nike is bringing back Robinson's "Air Force" sneaker line later this year which means you now have a shot at owning a pair of these awesome kicks. Check out the photos of Robinson's Nike Air Force 180 High.

What do you think Spurs fans? Will you get your hands on a pair of these Robinson kicks?

This just reminds me of the failure of the Glen Rice/Kobe/Shaq Lakers.....Or the Shaq/Gary Payton/Kobe/Malone Lakers.....Not enough basketballs to go around lol......Now you also have a LIABILITY at the foul line(don't think POP won't expose that)! Lakers could grab 1-2 games during reg season, but a 7-gamer goes to the Spurs and this is a challenge IF Dwight can stay healthy on that back!
Lmfao someone is butt hurt. You wanna talk hoops I'm all in. Don't worry I won't cuss or degrade. I can debate without doing so. ;)
@Tr3yz13 If I was butt hurt, your comments would no longer be here and I'd just block your comments. If you can debate without cussing or degrading, you sure haven't shown any of us that. Maybe take that angle from now on instead of coming on my site and insulting the writers and loyal readers. I'm all for differing opinions, but the way you go about it makes you look like a 12 year old that's not getting enough attention at home. Your welcome to post here even if you are not a Spurs fan, but I would urge you to take the less predictable route next. We could always use some good, intelligent sports debate in here.
Thanks to all the Spurs fans in this thread that kept the level of actual sports talk high. While we always welcome any commenters, I'm glad our Lakers counterparts didn't bait you into degrading this. In my opinion, if you can't get your point across without name-calling our using four-letter words, you lose any credibility regardless of what you are saying. Thanks for commenting.
LMAO. Spurs has the better backcourt??? LOL AHAHAHHAHA. You're a fkin IDIOT. Kobe/Nash sh.its on Parker and Manu all day. What a moron.
Like I told the other Lakers fan, you can disagree with the Project Spurs writers, but can you please keep it classy and respectful when commenting? Thank you.
Haha. No problem, Jeff. I just can't stand these disrespectful comments. It's very sickening. I appreciate a good basketball debate, but when name calling and all that other trash-talking junk comes into play, it really ruins it for me.
Anyways, keep up the great work here. You and the other writers here at Project Spurs are doing a fine job.
@JeffProjectSpurs Sorry didn't mean to be a dick, just absolutely disagree with what you wrote.
1) How soon will Howard be back playing and will his play be diminished? Back injuries are an iffy proposition. 2) Jamison was a volume shooter on a BAD team. 3) Nash is a HUGE defensive liability and without Howard for the first quarter+ of the season, that liability is magnified. All that being said, Spurs are still maddeningly lacking length (outside of Timmy, who no longer has lateral quickness). On the nights that the 3 is on, this lack of size is diminished. When the 3 is not dropping, Spurs look hopelessly outmatched by even bad teams.
Isn't Dwight not going to play until December??? I've read and heard countless reports saying his back is still really bad and he won't come back until late november or early december. If that's the case, then the Lakers probably won't be as good s everyone hopes. Seriously, 34 year old Kobe and 38 year old nash? As good as they are, THEY ARE OLD! Nash is still productive on offense, but he can't defend a turtle. Kobe is still going to be kobe and score points, but he's that much older now. I mean he barely played in the Olympics. Manu is older than Kobe and he played more minutes in London. Heck, I think a much improved and experienced Kawhi Leonard can now hold his own against old Kobe. I think this Lakers team is too overhyped. They will be good, definitely top 5 in the west, but they are not some powerhouse that every team should fear.
Ur fuckin stupid if u think parker/ginobili is better than Nash/Kobe. Spurs backcourt isn't exactly young either and Nash has been the better pg and has better players to pass to. And ginobili or Kobe? Very laughable
@Tr3yz13 you better ask nash why his team started to break up just like you lakers did after the spurs ended there season. suk a fat one
@Tr3yz13 There's nothing like a Lakers troll to rile us up Spurs fans. They can try their lame efforts to no success. Parker is always a better player than Nash. Kobe is too prideful to come to terms with Lebron now being the top player in the NBA and his diminishing great player skills. Parker is young just turned 30; Nash is past his prime but still efficient and was a back to back 82 game MVP. I can't disrespect him like that but he is and has always been a defensive liability for the teams he played for. You better hope Kobe is not drained and pushed around since he lost 20 pounds in an effort to ease the wear and tear on his knees. You are gonna hate Manu if he does not play for your team for he is such a winner and big -time and big-game player.
@JayceeTy Lol, actually I don't hate manu at all. I actually like him as a player but when it comes to kobe vs Manu I got Kobe.
@Every spurs fan, lmfao!!!! That's funny, lakers are more worried about okc right now than the spurs...and nash being a defensive liability is really a nonfactor
@spurs123 actually no, and I will not be referred to as a bandwagon laker fan. Save those comments for "lob city". I've been a true fan and no honest truth is I've been a fan of Jamison. Would have preferred getting mayo but it's a hell of an upgrade to our bench last year. Barnes was inconsistent. And doesn't have the scoring punch Jamison does. Thats you're opinion on Kobe's D. Maybe it's not what it once was be he is by no means a huge liability. You are talking as if he is complete garbage and plays no D.
@Tr3yz13 @spurs123 The only "2 cents" that you put in was that you proved that bandwagon Laker fans still are and always will be assholes. Come on man, if Jamison were on any other team right now you would say he's a scrub because he is. Just man up to the fact that the Lakers made some bad FO decisions in terms of getting washed up players. Also, Kobe is terrible on D because his help defense is pathetic and he gets beat off the dribble SUPER easily.
@spurs123 do you understand the point that Nash made gortat a better player? As well with Jared Dudley? He doesn't get all those open shots without Nash. And I guess 17+ a game makes you a scrub. And don't even come with the he played for the cavs b.s! He can still play some ball and now having all these better players around him he doesn't have to be the go to guy. Looking for something like 12 off the bench or so. The fact is Nash will find the open man with his superior court vision. Btw, yes you're right no one asked me to come here but I was searching lakers on google and this story popped up so I figured I'd put my 2 cents in. Thank you.
@Tr3yz13 Also Gortat is currently lightyears ahead of Jamison. Jamison had a few good playoff appearances, but now he is a washed up scrub who is always getting injured.
And to be fair you started the gortat-Jamison comparison. I simply said Nash makes players look better than they really are. As amares game isn't near as good as it was post Nash. Nash to Howard/gasol over Nash to gortat. And Jamison is no scrub, been a consistent player his whole career.
@spurs123 @spurs how about Kobe 9 time nba all defensive first team? And you say he plays bad defense? That was probably the dumbest thing you have said so far.
@Tr3yz13 @spurs123 @spurs I like how you didn't use a single statistic or fact to back up anything you said. Everything you said was garbage you have been fed by BSPN. You think Kobe's a good defender and you think Jamison is better than Gortat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35TbGjt-weA
@spurs123 @spurs Lmfao!!!@saying Kobe's a bad defender!!! You lost any credibility you had with that statement.
@spurs123 @spurs you are a fucking idiot. Matt bonner, splitter...there's 2. And we don't need meeks to be a huge scorer you fucking retard. We need someone to hit open 3s, something we lacked last year. And lmfao Jamison has been and still is a better player than gortat. You sir are a fucking moron. You are just a homer and upset no ones talking about the spurs in the west so get the fuck out of here with your stupid nonsense you stupid bitch.
@Tr3yz13 @spurs123 @spurs Yeah, you showed me the analysts know too much. Like Stephen A. Smith when he had no clue who was on the Spurs so he had to laugh at the name Patty Mills. Yeah, you're kind of a class A dumbass, and you probably cannot name a single player on the Spurs besides their big three. Also if JODIE MEEKS is your "capable scorer", I'm very concerned for you. Jodie plays horrendous defense (almost as bad as Kobe's), and he averaged 24 minutes ON THE SIXERS. Not to mention the fact that he only shoots 37% from three. Also, if you think Gortat is not a good player and you think Jamison is, you should be banned from basketball boards for life.
@spurs123 @spurs lmao@bobcats...doesntmatter how good Dwight's post game is. Nash made amare look better than he actually is not to mention made gortat look like a formidable player. And let's not forget Jamison and Meeks. Two very capable scorers. Especially Meeks with the ability to camp out at the three point line and catch and shoot. And with paus interior passing look for howard to have a field day. This isn't gonna be Blake passing to Bynum down low either. This is Nash to howard. Funny how only you spurs fans say this stuff when analysts and media all believe the only threat out west is okc. Which is true, we have to worry about getting through them not the spurs. Lmao.
@Tr3yz13 @spurs Yeah we should listen to him. Nash has tons of options like the sharpshooting Kobe and Artest and Blake... O wait they all suck from 3. Well maybe Nash has options down low. O wait Howard's post game is spin in a circle and hope to draw a foul and Pau Gasol is the biggest pussy ever. Maybe Mike Brown is a good option to pass to because there are no other good options and he sure as hell is a shitty coach. Also, tell me how having two players that play some semblance of defense is going to be good enough for the Lakers' "defense" to last against an offense like the Bobcats
Now that we have Howard, and plz tell me who you are gonna double? Nash has many options out there to dish to. Smfh@spurs homers lol
@Tr3yz13 hmmm even 3 years ago Parker completely outplayed Nash in the playoffs and Nash is a liability on defense meaning parker in the lane all game long. Kobe in his 17th season? well I think he's more of a volume shooter than play maker unlike Manu, I'd take Manu over Kobe any day.
@Spursforever69 tell me why Kobe needs to be a playmaker and facilitate when we now have Nash? Kobe can now be a true SG. And the Parker vs Nash argument is irrelevant. People are all talking one on one matchups and forget that you can't double anyone now. Go ahead get in the lane while Dwight swats those shots.
@Tr3yz13 You couldn't pay me to do a Kobe for Cory Joseph trade, that's how trash I think Kobe is. Parker is so far better than Nash right now, the comparison isn't even necessary. Also, how is Kobe better, seeing as Manu is way better defensively than Kobe, a way better passer, a better three point shooter, not a ballhog, and not an absolute douche to his teammates. Also, the Lakers are older than the Spurs on average by 3 years so I'd shut up if I were you.
You can disagree with the writer's opinion, but next time, can you please keep it classy and respectful? Thanks.
@Tr3yz13 I understand what you are saying about Kobe, but if anyone is going to screw things up with this new-look team, it's Kobe. There's only one ball and letting Nash be the ball-handler and trusting Dwight enough to pass up outside shots for inside shots may be tougher for him than it should be. Nash stopped being the better point guard about 3 years ago. No disrespect, but Nash is going to need help defending quicker point guards, and Parker is one of them. I'm also sure he meant the backcourt as a whole, not just the starters. I may or may not disagree with the original point, but how about we elevate the level of conversation. We are just merely stating our opinions and if you don't agree with them, great, but how about you bring some knowledgable sports talk and debate. Being disrespectful and calling names should have been left out in the 5th grade playground, and all it does is downgrades your argument.
@Emicris Appreciate you having @JeffProjectSpurs back and trying to keep things clean in here.
@mdeleon @Emicris @JeffProjectSpurs I think Kobe understands how to make things work. He tried already letting sessions handle the ball so I'm pretty sure he's more than willing to let Nash run the offense as he can play his natural position and not have to facilitate. Kobe's a champion and has been there done that he will adjust while still being the "leader". Wether I talked trash or whatever that doesn't discredit my points. I'm a laker fan but I still give credit where it's due. I'm not delusional, spurs backcourt is great but I'll still the lakers. Nash/Kobe working together even at this age can do something. Masterminds, hall of famers at their position! Spurs/lakers have had a great rival this last decade.
