Video: ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has no love for Spurs' Splitter
Stephen A. Smith. Some love him, some tolerate him, and some revile him. And after this video clip, I am sure most, if not all San Antonio Spurs fans will simply love to hate him.
Smith (aka "Screaming" A. Smith) and Skip Bayless went toe-to-toe on the Spurs on today's ESPN's First Take. Bayless, who is picking the Spurs as the favorite to win the Western Conference, defended the Spurs by saying how Tiago Splitter and Patty Mills will make the difference for San Antonio.
Bayless went on to base his point on how Tiago sets good picks, which in turn, will propel the Spurs to the NBA Finals. This caused Smith to laugh hysterically.
Although Bayless may be taking it a bit far with Splitter and his picks being the difference for the Spurs, Smith just continued to laugh in the face of Bayless and mocked Boris Diaw for his weight issues and Mills because of his first name.
Steve Smith is a knowleagable guy when it comes to the nba,but he acts to serious and intense for his own good.No need for drama,justTALK,WHICH IS WHAT U DO BEST.tAKE A CHILL PILL.
He is trying too hard to produce a laugh to raise his ratings but only comes out acting dimwitted, unprofessional, tactless and unimportant....ummm....maybe he isn't acting!

Stephen A Myth is a disgrace to Espn. Laughing at a guy just for his name and laughing at Tiago so hard. I wish I could slap him so hard that his hair line would move back to where it should be.
Sent an e-mail to ESPN complaining about Smith. Got a token answer. Maybe everyone should send them an e-mail about the rude B@@STARD!!!!

@JeffProjectSpurs I'm not enough of a computer wizard to know how to post it. Basically they told me that Mr Smith was jst sharing his opinion and people could agree or disagree with it and that's why they hire "analysts". I responded to their email saying that it was not his opinion I agreed/disagreed with,but it was the manner in which he expressed his opinion. I told them that I would not watch any show on ESPN that he was involved in and that I would ask everyone to do the same. Also, I am cancelling my subscription to ESPN, whichI have had for years, and that I would ask everyone to do that also!
Patty Mills is our 3rd pg and 13th? guy off the bench.... yet is better than half the players on the knicks roster and would be a vital roleplayer on most PLAYOFF TEAMS benches. Literally the last person on our bench ala James Anderson could be a starter on plenty of bad teams and would be one of the first guys off the bench on a team like LA. I love how ESPN people get paid to be yes-men and glorified hypemen

the guys an idiot and so are a lot of the other espn analysts. listen to them and you'll see what i mean. stephen a smith just goes for flash and all this "knicks" and "clippers" crap and i remember another espn analyst picking miami last year to win it all when they only had three players and he also picked the clippers when they made the paul trade. real analysts know that the spurs are a good team. listen to the guys from tnt. i remember reading an article where barkley himself said that the guys at tnt dont know why the spurs got written off and that a lot of the tnt analysts had them going really far into the playoffs this year. stephen a smith is crap and doesnt know what basketball really is

How does Stephen Ahole Smith have a job? If Tiago played for the Knicks, he would love him. How many times have we heard this moron say "the knicks are back" His is such a Knick homer that I dont think he even watches other games. They might as well let Spike Lee work for ESPN. For low class to make fun of Patrick Mills because his nickname is Patty. We can just keep flying under the radar and suprise people in the post season

It's clear that Stephen A. Myth hasn't watched many Spurs games (or none at all) this season. If you ask other analysts about Splitter (like Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Brent Barry, Bruce Bowen, etc.), they wouldn't laugh at him. All of them would realize how vital Splitter has been to our Spurs.

I lost complete respect for this guy after watching this. Wow. How can you insult a team because a guy on their team's name is Patty? I'm pretty sure Patty could beat the living shit out of him, so laughing at his name is probably a bad idea. Tiago Splitter could be winning the MIP this year, so I don't think you can legitimately insult him...

Stephen A Smith is an a$$h0le who tries to sound intelligent by speaking slow and over-emphasizing his syllables. I don't think anyone takes him seriously anyways.

i saw that this morning and Stephen A. Smith is an idiot for laughing like that. that's disrespectul towards Splitter. apparently, i think Stephen A. hasn't seen Splitter play before. he didn't win the Spanish League Finals MVP for nothing. he's one of the reasons why the Spurs have done well. i wish i could slap that laughing hyena in the face for not showing at least a little respect to a guy who has so much international experience. Tiago will continue to help our team.
