Splitter in a cast, Ginobili talks keys to Game 2

Though the San Antonio Spurs took Game 1 against the Utah Jazz yesterday, Tiago Splitter sprained his left wrist and is now doubtful for Game 2 according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said reserve center Tiago Splitter (sprained left wrist) is wearing a cast and likely doubtful for Game 2 Wednesday against the Jazz.

The Spurs did a decent job versus the big of Utah but having Splitter out for any extended period of time won't help San Antonio.

The good thing is the lay off between games will help Splitter recover, however, should the Spurs advance out of the first-round, they will need his services against either the bigs of Grizzlies (Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol) or the Clippers (Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan).

Against the Jazz, Splitter scored four points, grabbed one rebound, and had one blocked shot in seven minutes before getting hurt.

Also, Manu Ginobili spoke on the keys to winning Game 2.

Guard Manu Ginobili said San Antonio's primary Game 2 adjustment will be stopping the Jazz's transition offense. Utah scored 23 fast-break points and stayed in the contest during the first half by consistently going to the free-throw line. The Jazz were 23 of 30 from the stripe, with Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks — a combined 16 of 17 — initially punishing the Spurs in transition.

What do you have to say Spurs fans? You worried about Splitter's injury and what are your keys to a Spurs win in Game 2?

heh. Pop would put Tiago in a coffin and swear he died of a sprained wrist if he didn't know how awful dealing with yet another resurrection of Spur/Spurs story would be.

An injury to any spur (even Anderson or Joseph) will have me worried.  How long does it take to recover from a sprained wrist? And will the injury linger?  As long as we have him back by game 4 or 5 I think we will be fine.
