Leading the Spurs to a 12-3 record in March, which includes the San Antonio Spurs' current seven-game win streak, will definitely get you some recognition.
Today, the NBA named Spurs coach Gregg Popovich the Western Conference Coach of the Month for the second consecutive month.
During the month, the Spurs ranked first with 107.1 points per game, nearly six points above their season average of 101.4. San Antonio posted an 8-2 record at home for the month to improve to 21-4 overall at the AT&T Center, second-best in the Western Conference behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (23-4).
This marks the 14th time Popovich has won the award, which is more than NBA coach has won the award, but don't expect Popovich to be keeping tabs or to discuss it at all.
Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month.
@sa2ny2004 Whereas there was at least some calculation to figuring out Mike time. Luke time is just a wild guess lol.
@JeffProjectSpurs my guess will be no because even with his ways to keep the Spurs up in the top, the media will still overlook him for a lesser-known guy that's done well. my bet is on Scott Brooks to be the winner, which is fine. i totally respect him and the Thunder. would i like to see Pop win COY again? you bet i do!
