Written by Michael A. De Leon on .

San Antonio Spurs first round draft pick Cory Joseph has gone full circle, starting in Austin withCory Joseph the Universityof Texas to playing with the Spurs to ending up back in Austin for the Toros.

With the Spurs' abundance of guards on the roster, Joseph is getting some much needed experience with the Toros and has certainly made an impact in the D-League.

In a big win over the Maine Red Claws during the season, Joesph recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists.

Regardless of what league he's playing in, that kind of game is  definitely impressive, which led to Joseph being named D-League performer of the week in late March.

Joseph and the Toros are on their way to the second round of the D-League playoffs. After dispatching the Erie Bayhawks in three games, the Toros will now play the Canton Charge.

While Joseph struggled offensively in the first game, he had seven rebounds and three assists. In Game 2, he posted totals of 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds. He finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists in the series-clinching game.

Joseph was featured as the Your News Now Athlete of the Week. Be sure to watch the video for Joseph's, Toros coach Brad Jones and former teammate/current Toros volunteer assistant coach T.J. Ford's thoughts on Joseph's season.

Joseph appears to be fairing better than Mills. He seems better suited as pg, a pass now, shot later. It actually is the pg that the spurs need. Maybe next season will be better for him.

@rtesoro440 I agree with Jeff. And, Mills is being productive. Let's not rule him out.

@rtesoro440 well he is playing against d-league talent so it may not be indicative of how well he will do vs. pros in the NBA
