According to the Washington Post, the San Antonio Spurs are interested in point guard Mike Bibby who was recently bought out by the Washington Wizards:
Portland, Miami, Boston, San Antonio, the Los Angeles Lakers and possibly Denver are believed to have interest in him.
With the recent injury to point guard Tony Parker, it would make sense to bring in Bibby as insurance until Parker returns. He also wants to play for a team in contention for the NBA title so the Spurs would suit him. However, there is also a report the Spurs are interested in former Spur Garrett Temple.
What do you think about Bibby Spurs fans?
I don't know if Bibby will fit it. I'll go for Temple since we only need a usable backup PG that knows the system that's all.
kinda late to be posting this since ESPN has already mentioned that he was expected to sign with the Heat. just saying. but even then, i could care less about having Bibby because he hasn't been that good this season. i would rather take Temple instead, like Inbl said. and besides, we've got enough depth at the guards, it's the frontcourt that could use the help, which is why i wouldnt mind having Brewer as a backup for RJ.
Just let Hill and Quinn play, get Brewer for defense. I guess to have a third PG I'd take temple over Bibby. He knows the system already.
I say get Brewer and pick up Mike Bibby. I like that kid Temple, he played a pretty solid game but had his flaws.
I like Bibby but we need a slasher and defensive needs. So signing Temple and aiming at Brewer would be a plus. Besides Carlos Arroyo just got waived so there are point guards out there..
@Inbl @BlackSnakeStudios @LiveSpurs @vmainard @LFJeremy @RG8907 Yeah Bibby will be heading to Miami but this does tell you the Spurs are stressing finding another pg w/ TP out. So far they been targetting Brewer (swingman) and Arroyo and Bibby (point guards). This should tell SAS fans maybe they aren't going to go for size when we all know they need that more!
@vmainard Even better... He can take his talents to south beach.
@vmainard I think that if he wants to win a championship he will learn to love the bench. If not he can go on to the Big Two in Miami... Yeah Big Two... Chris Bosh does not count in my book...
