Antonio McDyess and Tony Parker will be joining Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili in street clothes on the bench as the Spurs take on the Portland Trailblazers tonight.
With McDyess and Parker out, the starting lineup is now made up of George Hill, James Anderson, Richard Jefferson, Matt Bonner and Tiago Splitter.
It'll be interesting to see what Anderson can do with the starting group, especially since he's seen about a combined 10 minutes of playing time in his last eight games.
Hill, who scored 30 against Memphis, will be asked to be one of the main contributors tonight.
Yes, THEY almost PULLED out this one, but, TOO MANY 3s that didn't go IN killed us. THEY should have attacked the basket instead. GH3 has been very successful doing it, but, NO! They didn't pass the ball to him and took MANY 3s instead. I KNOW the REFS helped the Blazers win. WHY? DID you all see those CHEAP fouls against the SPuRs? Blazers have been doing ALMOST the same things but NO calls. SPuRs is not that aggressive team ;they try to avoid contact not to get fouled. THEY mostly just have their ARMS up and yet get called for cheap fouls. DID you see Wallace TRIED to get a foul? He moved his head back and fell. Well, at least, the REF didn't buy that one. Blazers were out of bounce, NOPE! No call from that ref who was there in front of them. IN Portland, Miller traveled from Portland to San Antonio, NO call. Little things, no calls like this can cause a team to lose. Actually, it's a BIG thing.
Sorry, guys. Just disappointed, but I'll be fine. I already let my frustration out. Just can't blame fans why they complain about the refs. Hope you all see where I'm coming from.
They almost pulled out the win but maybe it was too much to ask. The Spurs needs to regain their winning form.
@DJ I agree DJ. There were some bad calls, but i really liked seeing our youth fight as hard as they did without the big three and McDyess. Tiago is starting to show me something. Liked seeing what James Anderson and Danny Green did defensively. Novak, Quinn and Neal hitting big shots off the bench is also encouraging. I did expect a lot more out of Richard Jefferson and DeJuan Blair with the injuries though.
Yeah, I'm proud of our youth. They got loose last night. RJ is losing his confidence. He tries so hard to get to the basket but always get called for offensive foul. DeJuan needs to do what he used to do when he's a starter. He should not feel bad being benched now. At least, he will be fresh at later time.@mdeleon
