Ginobili talks about retirement

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili has been playing stellar ball this season for the Spurs averaging 17.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists this season and after eight years in the NBA, he shows no signs of slowing down.

He signed a three-year extension with San Antonio but when asked about when he might retire from playing, Manu said he doesn't know but his plan is to finish out the next three season with the Spurs.

However, retirement does goes through his mind year-after-year:

“No sé cuándo me retiraré, la idea es seguir por tres años más, pero no sé. Es una decisión que se piensa año tras años”.

I'm sure Spurs fans dread the day Ginobili hangs up his basketball sneakers. Until then, soak in every game he plays because there will never be another player like Manu.

Manu is one of favorite Spurs player, I think I will cry the day he retires as a Spur. Tears of joy because of what he has done for the franchise and sadness because I will miss his amazing plays. Go Spurs Go!

I just hope that when Manu or TD retires, it's a championship year for the Spurs. Both players deserves to be on top when they decide to call it quits.

We love Manu! I'm sure a lot of Spurs fans will be saddened when he decides to retire the same thing with Duncan and to lesser extent McDyess.

If Manu retires it will be with the Spurs. He is definitely one of the best players to ever wear the Silver and Black!

Manu is a great player and will retire as a Spur, but that's still far. We Spurs fans want to see more of his 'magic' on the court.
