Added motivation

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

With the recent win over the Sacramento Kings, the San Antonio Spurs clinched the best record in the Western Conference. Because of that, they secured home court advantage throughout the West playoffs and cashed in their playoff bonus.

According to woai.com, the Spurs will split $300,000 dollars in playoff bonuses for securing the best record in the West.

And if being able to split $300,000 dollars wasn't enough, if they secure the best record in the NBA, they get to split another $350,000 dollars. How is that for motivation?

I don't think money will motivate them more, these guys are pros they will try to win homecourt because they know it's important in the playoffs.

for a guy like gary neal, steve novak sure sounds good. for a guy lie tim duncan, manu ginobili, tony parker. even matt bonner its not so much. i mean if its an even split between 13 guys then its only $23077. that should cover some technical fouls.

im with you on that, i could always use an extra 23k. maybe kevin martin was wishing he was a spurs right now, that 23k could have paid another months mortgage on his house instead of letting it go to foreclosure.
