After defeating Luxembourg yesterday in the European Under-20 Championships in Sarajevo, San Antonio Spurs' draftee Ryan Richards and Great Britain won again on Sunday as they defeated Norway 78 to 64. Richards had some early trouble, but his teammate Ali Fraser was there to pick up the scoring load reports HoopsFix.com:
Ryan Richards battled with foul trouble to finish with 20 points in just 16 minutes, Alex Marcotullio had 14 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, whilst Devon Van Oostrum had 5 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Richards' coach commented on Richards' foul trouble and the rest that Richards was able to store while on the bench.
“Ryan (Richards) got in some early foul trouble, and then we took the chance to rest him as we have a big game against the Czechs tomorrow.”
Richards went on to finish with 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 fouls. Great Britain will play the Czech Republic tonight.
Thoughts Spurs fans? What have you been liking or disliking from Richards so far in the tournament?
during an off-night and r. richards still makes 20 pts is real fantastic. He is fast maturing and ready to splash in the nba. Its just unfortunate that the spurs seems not to have confidence in the guy, Maybe, they should release him and allow other teams to sign him so that he can show true worth.
i think he's doing good, i mean we all know the players can have some off nights here and there but for all the games he's played, he's scored pretty good. if he can get used to the nba speed and defense and hit that mid range jumper on a consistent basis, he'll be good for us.
