By now, all San Antonio Spurs fans have heard about the report San Antonio will use their amnesty clause on Richard Jefferson.
However, that was days ago and RJ is still a Spur. And with the Spurs missing out on Caron Butler, Grant Hill and Vince Carter, it seems Jefferson might stick with the team if an alternative player cannot be found. That is of course if free agent Josh Howard accepts the Spurs reported offer.
But what about RJ himself? With the rumor his days in San Antonio might be over, does he want to still be in black and silver?
Check out what Jefferson and coach Popovich had to say (via woai.com) on the matter.
Josh Howard is not our answer. I rathger have RJ. We need to be looking for some help on the frontline, like Speights of philly or Thompson of the kings.
Come on Mr. Buford/coach Pop give jefferson another chance to prove himself that he fits. He knows the spurs system. Stop looking for a replacement. Besides, we have Green, Butler and Leonard.
