Video: Duncan expects a lot from Splitter this season

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

It is very apparent the San Antonio Spurs are thin in the frontcourt.

Tim Duncan, DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner and Tiago Splitter currently make up the Spurs frontline and the team can stand to use some help. Especially seeing how Antonio McDyess has retired.

But as the Spurs get set to kick off their regular season this Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies (the same team that exposed the Spurs' weakness in the paint in the first round of the 2011 playoffs) all eyes wll be on Splitter to be the big man the Spurs desperately need.

And according to Duncan, he is expecting a lot from Tiago this season.

Check out this video (via woai.com) where TD gives his thoughts on Splitter.

What do you have to say Spurs fans? Do you agree with TD on what he has to say about Tiago?

splitter has to play beyond expecttions. Help is not coming. Dalembert is signed by the rockets and humpries by the nets. He should play as if there is no tomorrow. The spurs is left with the d-league players - Hassell, Lawal and Zeller. Is coach Pop expecting a miracle? These are untested, young players. True, they have tghe height. Will they last?

Tiago is going to have to play really well this year if the spurs have any chance at making a run in the playoffs as much as I love Blair and Bonner they just arent big enough to make a huge difference in the playoffs when you go up against teams like the lakers and thunder who have great size
