Spurs' scouts at Syracuse-Florida game

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

The NBA season may be starting up soon but that doesn't mean the San Antonio Spurs aren't looking to the future.

According to cbssports.com, Spurs' scouts are at the Syracuse-Florida matchup in a meeting between the the third and ninth ranked college teams in the nation.

Scouts for the Knicks, Spurs, Grizzlies, Suns, Bulls, Raptors and Cavaliers were at the Carrier Dome for the game.

As mentioned, these are two of the top-10 teams in the nation and with talent on both squads, it's no wonder the Spurs are in attendance doing their homework early before the 2012 NBA Draft.

Interesting to note, playing for Syracuse is 6-7 forward Kris Joseph, the cousin of Spurs rookie Cory Joseph. Could the Spurs be looking at Cory's cousin?

Another player who is getting lots attention from scouts, according to Project Spurs' Jake Faunce, is Florida's 6-9 forward Patric Young.

Leave it to the Spurs to already be looking forward to ensure the team's future is bright.

Why is the spurs always interested in sf? Why not Fab Melo or Patric Young?

@rtesoro440 Unless Fab Melo rapidly progresses he won't be ready for this years draft. He would be a rookie Hasheem Thabeet without the shot blocking ability. Which is the only ability Hasheem Thabeet has. Look for Fab in the 2013 draft.

Kris Joseph is a safer bet to be a good pro then his cousin Cory IMO
