Report: Grant Hill to sign with Suns

Written by Jeff Garcia on .

The San Antonio Spurs search for a small forward will continue as Grant Hill will sign with the Phoenix Suns to the tune of $6.5 million for 1-year according to Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic.

projectspursghillAccording to a report yesterday, the Spurs had offered Hill a second year but apparently that was not enough to convince him to sign with San Antonio.

So now all eyes will be on Josh Howard and Vince Carter as likely candidates. Howard stated earlier this week, the Spurs told him they would like for him to be on the team but Howard also stated he would play with whichever team free agent Nene ends up signing with. If true, then this will take the Spurs out of the running for Howard's services.

As for Carter, he will be waived, thus available for the Spurs. The Spurs have also been looking at Warriors free agent forward Reggie Williams. With Williams, he is a solid scorer but doesn't bring much to the table defensively.

And if you are keeping score, Caron Butler and now Hill have passed up on joining the team since the Spurs have decided to use their amnesty clause on Richard Jefferson.

What do you have to say Spurs fans? Which available free agent forward would you like to see the team chase or should the Spurs just stick with what they have already, namely Kawhi Leonard and James Anderson?

i think definately keep rj now for one more chance and that will free us up big time next year...waive danny green but keep butler who is on barely anything anyway to give the guy a chance..on nba website have a look at stats cube n they have a big thing on rj production helping spurs and stuff like that its pretty surprising..i dont know if he would wwant to come back now though after all these rumors

Who's next spurs? Josh Howard, V.Carter? All are gone. Waive Green, Butler and Leonard or use them. They were recruited to play not warm the bench.

Would Nene and Howard be a possibility?

kinda knew it. grant hill's personality isn't one to abandon one's team when they want him back.

I don't have a problem with rolling with Leonard and Anderson. It'd just be nice to have a veteran presence there to right the ship in case the youngins flip out occasionally.

@runtd neither do i. well then, our best option now is to get Howard, IMO.
