Video: De Colo teaches kids the finer points of basketball
Written by Jeff Garcia on .
San Antonio Spurs draftee Nando De Colo recently put together a kids basketball camp out in France to show the finer points of basketball. And from the video below, it looked like the campers had a blast.
From conditioning, three point shooting drills, to De Colo crossing up kids on the court and more, it's great to see Nando take time out from training for Eurobasket 2011 and give the kids some lasting memories.
I took the time to watch some games of the french team.Nando deColo appears to be an able sub for TP. Can he be effective with the spurs? He was drafted 2 or 3 years ago but was never signed by the team. He is one of the many draftees stached away to develop their game. I wonder whether the spurs can try him now. They need a point guard and indeed deColo is point guard and at 6'5" he could create mismatches in the nba. He can even shoot beyond the arc. Let's take a gamble on him rather than changing the game of G. Neal.
@rtesoro440 thing about nando is he lacks quickness. he might get burned on the defensive end
@JeffProjectSpurs @rtesoro440 I also recently watched his entire game versus Canada and he rarely ran the point for the national team. He would come in after Parker, but was mainly a SG or moved to SF.
@24writer @JeffProjectSpurs The distinction between a shooting guard and a point guard in a spurs game is non-existent. Manu and TP exchange their roles when the situation demands. He appears capable of distributing the ball and that counts. It is pointed out that he lacks quickness but he is not to drive to the goal rahter, to draw his guard and pass to a teammate unlike TP. Perhaps, we are not factoring in his height at 6'5" not common in the nba. .
