The FIBA Americas tournament rages on and for San Antonio Spurs fans, not only is it giving them some basketball to fill the offseason and lockout, it's also giving them a chance to see current and future Spurs players in action.
It also gave Spurs 2011 first-round draft pick Cory Joseph a chance to speak and play against his future Spurs teammate, Tiago Splitter when Brazil defeated Canada 69-57 on day two of the tournament.
Prior to that game, Joseph spoke about Splitter and looked excited to play with him in the upcoming Spurs' season. Joseph also went on to speak highly about Splitter's defense, and his post game. Check it out at the 30 second point of the video below.
What awaits joseph withe spurs? Unless he improves his shooting, his role is not bright considering the spur's emphasis on outside shooting. This goes the same with Splitter who must improve his perimemter shooting. The spurs needs help to defend the interior and TP needs a reliever. Mgnt must do something soon otherwise, they face a bleak future. The answers could be in the free agency market and their "draft/stashed" players.Fans would like the spurs to fillout the pf and c positions NOW and add another pg to give TP some breathing spells. TD can't do it by himself,
