Ginobili's Block on Durant Print E-mail

Not only did the Spurs snap their two-game losing streak and pick up the win against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, Manu Ginobili had an impressive game.

He was getting it done on the offensive end with 26 points, and he also had this little gem on the defensive end on the Thunder's Kevin Durant.

And the Spurs do not want to resign him?

As Charles Barkley would yell, GINNNNNOOOOBBBBIIIIILLIIII!

Come back this afternoon for a full game recap on the next episode of the Spurscast.

Ginobili!

It was a pleasure to watch Manu play last night. He's had a couple of big games this year, but I haven't seen him play like that since before he got injured in 2008. That block was spectacular, but my favorite part about last night's game was watching Manu D-up Durant. You could tell he was frustrating the fire out of Durant every time he guarded him. Plus he had those couple of steals when he jumped Durant after he tried a hesitation. And man I did not see that block coming. Durant had just faked George Hill out of his shorts, and Manu came from nowhere! The only thing that would have made that play better is if San Antonio would have been able to finish with a transition dunk. That would have brought the house down!

Overall, the reason San Antonio won this game was because they played tough D. Statistically OKC was a little better overall, but the Spurs clamped down like they used to before this year. Tonight it just looked like SA wanted it more. They were playing like they were desparate. Especially Manu. That's how they need to play every single game the rest of the way out. Even RJ had some clutch plays late (except the free throws.) I really wish he could have finished that dunk late in the 4th. I hope that his confidence level continues to rise.

This was a great win tonight especially on a night when Dice shot 0-7 and TP only had 4 points in 25 minutes. They showed grit and toughness. Can they do this every game the rest of the way out?

I was thinking have we lost the old Manu that we should to love. Looks like I'm wrong, again and again. Because Manu never gives up and this block will go down as another testimony to his career when it comes doing great things.

VAMOS VAMOS MANU!!!
