Stats of the Game: Spurs vs. Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers ended an 18-game skid against the Spurs by beating NBA leading San Antonio 90-85 at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.
The Clippers have the league's worst record at 4-15, but still beat a team with the NBA's best record for the second time in 10 days, following a similarly stunning win over the New Orleans Hornets.
Baron Davis had seven points and 10 assists in his return from a an injury.
It's now time to look at the numbers that stood out in this Spurs' recent loss.
56 - The Clippers established their inside game and outscored the Spurs 56-34 on inside points.
50 - The Clippers controlled the boards, out-rebounding the Spurs 50-43.
49.3 - The Clippers connected on 37-75 (49.3%) of their field goal attempts while the Spurs just made 32-90 (35.6%) of their shots from the floor.
31-13 - Blake Griffin had a monster game, he 31 points, 13 boards, four assists and two steals.
21 - Eric Gordon added 21 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Clippers.
17 - George Hill led the Spurs with 17 points, three steals and two assists off the bench.
8 - Tim Duncan only scored eight points, after posting a triple-double performance against the Golden Sate Warriors last Tuesday. DeJuan Blair had eight points and three rebounds in 15 minutes of action. The Spurs committed just eight turnovers compared to the Clippers' 19 for the entire game.
0 - Richard Jefferson added 13 points and nine rebounds and had zero turnovers in 33 minutes of playing time.
Rookie Watch: Gary Neal had 12 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of action. While Tiago Splitter had four points and a rebound in seven minutes.
What's Next? The Spurs will host the Minnesota Timvberwolves at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on Friday night.
