San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich is a hard-nosed, no-nonsense kind of NBA coach. He tells it like it is and doesn't care if you are the star of the team or the last guy on the bench. Everyone gets equal treatment. Though I suspect this might be a shock to the system for a then 19-year old rookie point guard by the name of Tony Parker.
Being the floor leader is tough enough but for a teen point guard like Parker was, being yelled at by coach Pop was enough to bring the 3-time NBA champ to tears. That's right... Pop made TP cry!
In an interview with ESPN, Parker revealed more about the start of the relationship he has with Pop, the amazing bank-shot in Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals, losing to the Heat in the Finals, what makes him a fearless point guard and much more.
Take away: Parker is mentally tough. If only De Colo would respond to Pop's berating with such an attitude.
I think Blair self-medicated his Pop pain at WhataBurger.
Capt. Jack with who knows what.
To Tiago's credit, he's just kept working and kept a positive attitude.
Looks like Kawhi is the kind of guy who says, "Thank you sir, may I have another-as long as it makes me great."
My junior high coaches used to pop us with towels coming out of the shower ... but we dare not cry.
What's the statute of limitations on that?
